Often described as the father of environmental justice, Dr. Robert D. Bullard is a professor and writer who has dedicated his life to researching and shaping the field of environmental justice in academic literature. He has written eighteen books that address a variety of EJ topics like sustainable development, environmental racism, urban land use, industrial facility siting, community reinvestment, housing, transportation, climate justice, emergency response, smart growth, and regional equity. Dr. Bullard’s work has given agency to communities of color and of lower socioeconomic status in the American south to protest and prevent unfair siting of industrial waste facilities. (Source)
