Dr. Beverly Wright

Dr. Beverly Wright is a scholar and advocate for environmental justice in the American South. She helped found the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice which addresses health inequities in the famed “Cancer Alley” of lower Mississippi and helped monitor the fairness of disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Wright is an advocate for the safe return of residents after natural disasters, ensuring environmental restoration and equal cleanup efforts are fairly distributed.
